Despite the official website of the Turkish embassy indicating that Ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar resumed office on January 26, 2022, the incumbent Ambassador had held an interview with the Sun newspaper prior to January 3, 2022.

Hidayet Bayraktar could be defined as a carrier diplomat. Between 2011 – 2013, before he served as the Ambassador in Albania, the 60 year old ambassador served as the Deputy Director General, Directorate General of Protocol Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he also was the first secretary, Pacific and Latin America department between 1997 – 1999.

Who issues Turkey Visa?
The Turkey consulate in Nigeria recently handed over visa application and document submissions over to a seperate company named Voyavisa. This company is located at 20 Nairobi Street, Wuse 2. Nonetheless, Visa approval is still done by the Turkish consulate.
