Effect of Police Raids in Turkey Cloth Markets

Turkey Shops, Others Alert Undocumented Procurement Agents to Stay Safe.

The Turkish election would be done in the first quarter of 2023, and many have assumed it may be the reason for the hostility of the Turkish police on undocumented Nigerians. Those with their Ikamet too are not fully spared.

Ikamet is the Turkish residence permit, many documented Nigerians have recently have their renewal application declined as well putting many on alert of what is to come despite legally residing in the country.

The Turkish immigration policy has been largely considered inconsistent over the past 4 years, leaving migrants with a lot to consider, It is sincerely not certain which visa would allow you get a resident permit now. Between 2017/2018, those who came with tourist visa had their reign but unfortunately, the reign did not capture all who moved in between February to March same year, fast forward to 2020/2021, It was largely unclear whose visa era won as many tourist visas were denied, many business visas too and we couldn’t say why which left many stranded and undocumented.

The most popular legitimate job in Turkey is procurement but this industry largely dominated by Nigerians is now put on panic mode as rumors continue to fly about cancellations of resident permits and arrest of undocumented agents.

This incessant police raid has drastically affected their own businesses which is already hit by the Nigerian economic factors which has hugely slowed down demand and patronage.

There have been high profile arrests and deportations within the Nigeria Cargo rank in the past few weeks and we respect the privacy of our colleagues.

Many Nigerians who are desperate to relocate over to Turkey are advised to either reconsider their plans or at least hold on until after the Turkish electioneering year.
